How can I check my engineering work for plagiarism?

I have finished most of my engineering assignment, but I am worried that some parts sound too close to my sources. Some students talked about plagiarism-free engineering assignments when we were discussing references and original writing. I want to make sure my work is written in my own words and properly cited. I understand basic referencing, but I am not sure if I am doing enough. What checks should I make before submitting?
